A recently launched audio clip seems to show former President Joe Biden struggling to remember the dates of key events in his life, including the death of his son Beau.

The audio clip, first provided to Axios, is the investigation of former special lawyer Robert Hur on the handling of documents classified by Biden after leaving the vice presidency and took place in the days after Hamas attack against Israel in October 2023.

In the clips released by AxiosBiden pauses several times and seems to fight while he recounts several details, including the years he spent as vice president, when President Donald Trump formally assumed his position and when his late son died.

Biden sat for more than five hours with Hur, who provided his 345 -page report to the Department of Justice, which published it shortly after in February 2024. The Biden Administration provided the complete transcription of the Biden interview with Congress one month later, which published it.

Axios only published a small fragment of this audio they obtained.

“The transcripts were published by the Biden administration more than a year ago. The audio does nothing more than confirm what is already public,” said Biden spokesman Kelly Scully, in a statement to ABC News.

The Biden administration resisted launching the audio recording in itself, invoking the executive privilege. Former Attorney General Merrick Garland was retained in contempt for Congress by the Republicans of the House of Representatives for his refusal to release the audio.

As ABC News previously reported, the Trump administration was prepared to release the complete audio, rejecting the arguments raised by the administration officials to reveal such evidence of a closed criminal investigation could prevent future high profile subjects from providing cooperation similar to researchers.

The launch occurs immediately after the books that have revealed to inform about how Biden and their intimate circle allegedly sought to protect the aspects of their decreasing mental abilities during their presidency.

ABC News has not obtained the audio independently. A White House spokesman only referred ABC to axios clips. It is not clear immediately how Axios obtained the audio of a closed criminal investigation.

The Trump Administration has resisted separately the efforts of the supervision groups and the media organizations to publish the report of former special advisor Jack Smith about the management of Trump’s classified materials after leaving the White House in 2021, which turned out that Trump was in charge of 40 criminal charges related to his omen of the information and obstruction of the national defense.
