Three months after President Donald Trump returned to office and began issuing a series of executive orders against organizations and law firms whose actions have opposed him, a Washington lawyer, DC from Washington for a long time, is launching a new firm that aims to represent those who, according to him, have been “illegic and inappropriately attacked” by the administration of Trump.
The lawyer Abbe Lowell, who has represented high -profile clients, including Hunter Biden and Jared Kushner, says the new firm, Lowell & Associates, will provide legal representation and advice to individuals and institutions “who face politicized investigations, civil and administrative actions,” according to a press release announcing the new company.
“This company is prepared for today’s dynamic legal landscape, which offers a thinner model than the largest companies can provide,” Lowell said in a statement. “I started my private practice career in my own firm and I am excited to lead a small but agile team ready to represent companies, non -profit organizations and individuals who need our experience and dedication.”
The customers of the newly launched company include a series of people who have been the objectives of executive orders or other actions taken by the Trump administration.
They include the lawyer of complainants Mark Zaid and the attorney general of New York Letitia James, who successfully demanded Trump and his company for fraud, which resulted in a fine of civil fraud of $ 354 million. Since Trump assumed the position, James has been sent to the Department of Justice for investigation by a federal agency for accusations of mortgage fraud, what she denies.
“Attorney General James focuses every day to protect New Yorkers, especially because this administration armed the federal government against the rule of law and the Constitution,” said a spokesman for James’s office in a statement to ABC News after the reference was announced. “It will not be intimidated by thugs, no matter who they are.”
Lowell’s new firm also represents former Trump administration employee, Miles Taylor, who wrote the “Anonymous” 2018 profile opinion article at the New York Times and released a book about his time in the previous administration of Trump. Trump now called him a “traitor”, and in a presidential memorandum he ordered Taylor stripped of any security authorization he could have, and said he was ordering the Department of Justice to investigate him.

Lowell, previously partner of Winston & Strawn, joins the firm by another lawyer who has delayed executive orders aimed at the great law. Brenna Frey trout went viral on social networks for renouncing the high profile law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom after reaching a $ 100 million agreement with Trump to avoid being attacked.
“We are not here to make statements, we are here to litigate, win and help reinforce the legal railings that keep our democracy together,” Trout Frey said of the new firm.
Lowell also joins the lawyer David Kolansky, who worked with Lowell for years in his representation of Hunter Biden and Matthew Grimes, who was accused and then acquitted along with Trump’s former ally and his friend Tom Barrack, now Trump ambassador to Trump in Turkey.
Hunter Biden was sentenced in 2024 for three federal positions related to weapons and declared himself guilty of unrelated tax charges, before his father forgave him, then President Joe Biden.
