The president of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, will try again to vote on a budget plan to finance the agenda of President Donald Trump.

The camera is expected to vote at 10 am to the extent, which was approved by the Senate last week.

“I am happy to tell him that this morning, I think we have the votes to finally adopt the budget resolution to be able to advance in the very important agenda of President Trump for the American people,” Johnson said at a press conference together with the leader of the majority of the Senate John Thune.

Johnson suffered a setback on Wednesday night when he was forced to discard a planned vote due to the opposition of a small group of republican intransigent who are worried, the budget would be added to the nation’s deficit.

Johnson said he had “very productive” deliberations with the members on Wednesday night and Thursday sought to highlight efforts to reduce spending by more than one billion dollars.

“We are committed to finding at least $ 1.5 billion in savings for the American people and at the same time preserve our essential programs,” said Johnson.

Thune seemed less excited about the objective of reducing the deficit, but he meekly supported the high objective of the savings chamber to the budget, announcing that the ambition of the Senate for fiscal sustainability is “aligned with the chamber.”

“We have to do something to take the country on a more fiscal road and that implies that we take a hard exfoliant of our government, discovering where we can find those savings,” said Thune. “The speaker has spoken of $ 1.5 billion. We have many senators from the United States who believe it is a minimum and we will do everything possible to be as aggressive as possible.”

President Trump, who has personally participated in trying to adopt the measure, intervened on Thursday morning that the Republicans were “approaching.”

“‘The Big, Beautiful Bill’ is coming very well. Republicans are working together.

Johnson faces a short window to obtain the measure on the finish line before the house is scheduled to go in its two -week recess in April.

The speaker can only afford to have only three defections of his caucus with all members voting and present.

The leaders of the Republican Party of the House of Representatives have rushed during the past week to block the votes, after more than 20 Republicans expressed concern that the Senate resolution established a floor of only $ 4 billion in savings. Now, Johnson says he has the necessary support.

“Our goal is to meet our promises,” said Johnson.
